Obiettivi formativi

 The course aims to provide students with the main knowledge on the human memory and on the cognitive mechanisms underlying learning. Specifically, the processes underlying the "deep learning" will be analyzed in detail, as well as the main topics resulting from the application of the memory researches in educational contexts.

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi

 By the end of the course, the students should be able to use the knowledge acquired on human memory and learning in order to work in educational contexts.

Modalità di insegnamento

 Lezioni frontali tradizionali.

 Frontal lectures and seminars, as well as interactive classroom activities and the opportunity to participate in experiments related to the arguments of the course.

 The final exam will be oral. The course provides also an optional written evaluation on the arguments of the lessons.

Programma

_ le caratteristiche di base dei diversi sistemi di memoria e il loro funzionamento;

_ l'esperienza soggettiva del ricordo;

_ le diverse funzioni della memoria e le tecniche per migliorarla;

_ i meccanismi di recupero dell'informazione;

_ l'apprendimento in relazione delle variabili meta-cognitive, affettive e motivazionali ad esso sotteso;

_ i livelli di apprendimento;

_ il ruolo del corpo nell'apprendimento;

_ l'apprendimento e la memoria nelle neuroscienze.

 The course will present some perspectives on the nature of the human memory and the knowledge representation. Further, the course will present specific topics, such as:

_  the basic features of the different memory systems;

_ the subjective experience of remembering;

_ the different functions of memory and the techniques to improve it;

_ the information retrieval;

_ the meta-cognitive, affective and motivational variables able to regulate learning;

_ depth of processing in learning;

_ the role of the body in learning;

_ learning and memory in neuroscience.
